Why do we do the things we do? And why are we not doing all the other things we could and maybe even want to do? Lack of time and talent - for sure. Or are these just excuses? It’s easy and convenient to stick to what we know, to what we are told we are good at, receive recognition for - get paid for. But what if there is more to discover? What if there are unknown skills, talents and passion inside of us, waiting to be discovered. What beliefs are holding us back to lift these hidden treasures and to live up to our true potential? And how might these treasures even help us to re-design the life we live? Our two speakers, Sarmistha Pantham and Dr. Adam Ambrozy, will take us on an expedition in search for our hidden treasures. We will be shown the "best places“ to look for these treasures and learn how to lift and use them. Thanks to our loyal partners from Nampelka we look forward to having a toast on our newly discovered treasures with a glass of delicious Argentinian wine…

OUR SPEAKERS

SARMISHTA PANTHAM

SARMISHTA PANTHAM_Compass-Salon_Hidden-Treasures.png

Sarmishta is a designer and maker based in Berlin, and currently Head of Design & UX at Marley Spoon. Her path thus far has been driven by a curiosity to explore the intersections of various creative disciplines and their transformational power. Over the last 15 years, she has worked in fashion, brand identity, trend research and user experience design for brands like Levi’s, eBay, Toyota, Blinkist, in India, the United States and Berlin. Alongside her professional practice as a User Experience Designer, she runs a parallel practice named Handful – a playground for interdisciplinary vocabularies between craft, culture and food and can otherwise be found researching traditional Indian delicacies for her pop-up dinner series, Indian Standard Time.

Sarmishta will invite us to explore the edges of our creative self – she will share her journey of how she stumbled upon unexpected inspiration for the process of starting over as a beginner, and how our identities can crystallise from places far beyond what we consider our mainstays.

ADAM AMBROZY

Adam is a Team & Personal Coach, Entrepreneur (see for example Make Team Work), Researcher, and Strategist as well as traveller, photographer and foodie, huge fan of growth mindset and a good chat. He is currently developing the Berlin-based start-up Innential - a machine learning powered digital tool that uses data about skills available in companies for team planning, knowledge sharing and employee development. Originally Polish, he studied, lived & worked internationally. Adam believes that the right mindset takes us to places where we should be, and creates realities we want.

With more than 15 years of international experience in strategy, and building teams, he’s had the opportunity to get to know many perspectives & cultures which led to the discovery that there is no single truth, and it’s only up to us how we design our lives towards fulfillment. Adam will introduce us to the concept of “liminal thinking“ and how we can use it to lift our hidden treasure and (re)-design our lives.

We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of discussion, insight and inspiration!

Compass Salon is free but invitation only - if you like to attend drop us a line why you might be the right person to attend and join our community :-)!
